Tommy’s Take: Forever Young - Cam Backs Up Players with Cadillac Win
What a few months it’s been for Cameron Young. Two wins already in 2026. That’s not a hot streak – that’s a statement.
Young isn’t the guy who nearly wins anymore. He’s the guy who closes. His ‘Players’ victory at Sawgrass gave him the belief and winning the Cadillac championship this week at Doral proved he’s a big time player now. In the USA’s Ryder cup loss at Bethpage - Young was by far their best performer - the only box left to tick now for him is that first major. And honestly? It feels like he’s ready!
Switching gears – the LIV uncertainty won’t go away. There’s so much talk flying around right now you can’t believe half of it. One day a merger is done, the next it’s dead in the water. What we do know is that the PIF funding reportedly runs through the end of 2026, so the league isn’t going anywhere just yet. But after that? Nobody knows. Expect the real answers to unfold later this season. Until then, take every rumour with a fistful of salt.
Over on the DP World Tour, Sweden’s Mikael Lindberg grabbed his maiden win at the Turkish Airlines Open. Solid stuff. Europe’s depth keeps showing up.
Two wins for Cam already - what will the rest of the season bring for him ?
